Welcome to my website.
I am a author who, from my earliest days has had an interest in military history and in the Canadian army in particular. Back in the 1950s, I was a member of the reserve forces and, since the 1990s, have been writing and publishing books and articles on the history of the Canadian army.
Please take a look around my web site, read some of the postings on my blog, and get an idea of where I am heading in my future writing.
By the way I should warn you, please do not confuse me with another person who has the same name - i.e., Robert (Bob) Fowler. We share the name, but the other Robert is a former diplomat who was kidnapped in Africa, has written about his experiences in an award-winning book, and is sought out for interviews by the media. THAT'S NOT ME!
I get phone calls and emails, and have people at my book signings who ask how I'm feeling after my (the other Bob's) ordeal. The confusion is often funny and worth a laugh; occassionally it is irritating when I get invitations to banquets, only to be forgotten later when they realize I am the wrong person. But it is all a bit of laugh, and I do wish Bob (the other Bob) well.
(To be honest, I really am glad that I did not get kidnaped in Aftica!)
